Gig Box P-100 Reviews 5

I purchased one of these units at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim last month. After walking through the guitar section of the trade show, I was about to turn around and saw this GIG BOX out of the corner of my eye. I had been looking around for a pedalboard for a couple of months. I found units that were large enough to hold all of my pedals, however, I had not found one quite sturdy enough that I didn't have to mortgage the house for. The less-expensive models were simply too flimsy. When the President of GIG BOX PRODUCTS, Joe Hooper, threw me his sales pitch, I realized that this piece of gear had a lot of thought behind it. Not only was the gentleman a professional musician, he also owns an Entertainment Production company. I knew at that point, that this man knew his gear.

The GIG BOX P-100 is not just any pedalboard. It's a pedalboard, storage space, and guitar stand all in one case. While it's sturdy enough for my weekend warrior gigs, it's also large enough to accommodate all my effects. However, the coolest feature is the guitar stand which folds and stores away in the lid. It will hold three electrics and one acoustic guitar. It is such a clever invention, eliminating the hassle of extra cartage. The GIG BOX representative sold me the display unit for $250.00. I was a little apprehensive at first, but I am glad I bought it. When I returned home to Atlanta, I called around to a couple of stores. These puppies are going from $285 - $325 ea. About the same price for any of the other pedalboards out there, but the GIG BOX comes with more options and more "Umph!". Well worth the money--it's rugged, it's solid and I'm sold.

I am looking forward the lighter version which they have scheduled release at Summer NAMM in Nashville. The only other thing that I wish mine had is the beautiful, bow-tie wiring job that the GIG BOX technician used for Mr. Hooper's personal unit. It was clean!

Outside construction: 3/4 inch covered with dark gray carpeting. Pedalboard: 1/2 inch Guitar stand: 1/2 inch Weight: about 31 lbs. I can see contacting GIG BOX to mount some casters on mine at a later date. It has steel joint supports and corner protectors that hold everything nice and tight. Rubber feet are mounted on the bottom of the pedalboard so it can be used outside the unit. The Guitar Stand is sturdy with rubber grip at the base of each stand and the rake is perfect for any size guitar or base. The overall quality is sturdy and excellent. Best of all, stamped right on the front--"Made in the USA".

GIG BOX PRODUCTS has a great idea with the P-100. They have tremendous experience across the board, quality manufacturing, great Customer Service and it all shows. I am looking forward checking out their new products in Nashville!
